Must-Stop Ice Cream Shops Near Archer Hotel Austin

Three scoops (er, cheers) for some of the tastiest ice cream Austin has to offer. Along with the experiential Museum of Ice Cream in The Domain, these spots are all favorites of your hosts at Archer Hotel Austin.

  • Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream — Right around the corner from Archer Hotel, you’ll find from-scratch delights created and inspired by James Beard Award-winning ice cream maker Jeni Britton. The ultra-smooth buttercream consistency is enhanced with fresh fruits and vegetables. Brambleberry Crisp, Jeni’s Homemade Banana Bread and Frosé Sorbet are local favorites.
  • Dip Dip Dip — Named a Best of ATX winner by Austin Monthly, this Japanese-inspired scoop shop has us going yum, yum, yum. Located in front of DipDipDip Tatsu-Ya, ordering couldn’t be easier. Simply walk up to the counter and place an order through your phone for an artisanal ice cream experience. Hand-dipped mochiko waffle cones are the vessel for such funky flavors as Shroom of Doom and Lime in da Coco Nuts.
  • Casey’s New Orleans Snowballs — An Austin staple since 1996, this popular snowball stand serves up “soft snow and sweet syrups” in traditional New Orleans style — think snow cones (with fluffy ice) topped with pure cane sugar-based syrup in more than 50 flavors to please your palate. Customer favorites include Strawberry Cheesecake, Dreamsicle and Boston Cream Pie.
  • Tiny’s Milk & Cookies — Less than 10 miles from Archer Hotel, Tiny’s is a charming walk-up cookie and homemade ice cream counter. Their signature Milk & Cookies flavor features mom’s vanilla ice cream with gooey chocolate chip cookie chunks. Check the chalk board for seasonal ice cream and sorbet flavors.
  • OMG Squee — Offering a unique mix of gluten-free Asian American desserts and traditional taiyaki soft serve, OMG Squee is an easy stop just 6 minutes from the airport. Mochi-Belgian waffle cones are topped with monthly rotating soft serve flavors and such enticing toppings as fruity pebbles and cookie crumbles. Pro tip: Don’t forget the mochi donuts.
