Warmly inviting and casually cool, the semiprivate Lounge sits just off AKB’s main bar — close enough to enjoy the spirited ambiance but with a more-intimate vibe. Below the retro-modern crystal chandelier and amid large-format prints of iconic 1950s city scenes that connect this industrial-chic gathering spot to the neighborhood’s heyday, guests nestle in comfortable soft seating and velvet couches.

An elegant, other-era, year-round space with a beckoning central bar, the intimate Empire room is ideal for private cocktail receptions, engagement parties, holiday events and social gatherings. Guests adore the photo-ready midtown skyline — including the incredible up-close view of the Empire State Building. The Spyglass Bar & Reception menu features a selection of shareable snacks and plates plus indulgent desserts.

During the warmer months, floor-to-ceiling glass doors retract and connect the intimate Empire room with its open-air terrace with perimeter drink rails and a dual Spy Viewer for a magnified perspective of this magical city.

On both sides of the Empire room are the east and west terraces — two semiprivate, open-air alcoves ideal for after-work happy hours and intimate gatherings of friends. Both terraces feature Empire views and can be reserved during our peak summer season. In addition to bar snacks, seasonal cocktails and curated wine and beer, our food and beverage packages are designed specifically for smaller groups.

The secluded back lounge offers a flexible, chic space that’s ideal for happy hours and special occasions. A four-panel display with a live-feed view of the Empire State Building can alternatively display custom content to complement your event. This intimate lounge is inspired by 1940s glamour and Hitchcock’s “Rear Window” masterpiece; think cool blues, warm woods, smoky mirrors, shimmering pendant lights and floor-to-ceiling windows.

In the warmer months, the back lounge opens to its own private, festooned terrace (accommodating an additional 20 guests) with open-air city views.
